The Usage of Polyaluminium Chloride Varies Across Different Industries

Newstime:2025-07-05        Source:Polyacrylamide

During the application of polyaluminium chloride products, we observe variations in usage across different industries. Therefore, precise and scientifically referenced data is essential when determining dosage requirements. How much product is needed to treat one tonne of wastewater?

Products employed in sewage treatment are predominantly yellow or yellowish-brown powdered solids. Under water treatment conditions, they exhibit flocculation properties. However, due to varying applications, significant differences exist in both concentration and dosage requirements. As polyaluminium chloride serves as a crucial coagulant within the water treatment sector, It effectively purifies water under conditions of low temperature, low turbidity, and high turbidity. Nevertheless, its reaction with certain organic compounds may pose health risks to humans. Consequently, ensuring the purity of treated water becomes paramount. Furthermore, application standards vary across different industries. For domestic sewage, the dosage for 26% concentration ranges from 200-350g per cubic metre of wastewater. For coal washing plants, the dosage for 26% concentration ranges from 100-300g/m³ of wastewater. For textile dyeing plant wastewater, the dosage for 26% concentration is also 100-300g/m³ of wastewater... Why then do dosage requirements differ across industries?

The Usage of Polyaluminium Chloride Varies Across Different Industries

The dosage of polyaluminium chloride (PAC) products correlates with water quality concentration and flow rate. Generally, higher water concentrations necessitate greater dosage. When flow rates are high, dosage should be appropriately increased to ensure thorough mixing and reaction. Operational standardisation, on-site dissolution concentration, and other factors also influence PAC product reactions, all of which impact dosage requirements.

Generally, polyaluminium chloride application involves either dry or wet dosing methods. Dry dosing typically requires pre-dissolving the product into a 10% solution prior to use. However, metering pump flow rates must be carefully monitored, calculated based on adding 0.5 kilograms of product per tonne of water. For sludge presses, this dosage should be doubled. Frankly, this dosage is not fixed. It primarily depends on actual conditions and factors such as variations in water quality.
