Can Polyaluminium Chloride Remove COD From Water?

Newstime:2025-06-07        Source:Polyacrylamide

As a water purification agent utilising alumina as its raw material, it effectively removes toxic substances and heavy metals from water. It is highly soluble in water and finds extensive application in domestic and industrial water systems. Furthermore, it plays a significant role in purifying wastewater containing fluoride, oil, and heavy metals. Given these functions and applications, can it effectively treat sewage and remove COD from water at low temperatures?

Polyaluminium Chloride products combine the advantages of aluminium and iron salt-based agents. They notably enhance the efficacy of aluminium and iron ions while substantially reducing effluent colouration. This effectively overcomes purification challenges in low-temperature, low-turbidity conditions, delivering superior water treatment results compared to conventional products. COD removal is straightforward and uncomplicated, requiring no additional equipment, incurring no extra economic costs, and causing no secondary pollution.

Can Polyaluminium Chloride Remove COD From Water?

Polyaluminium Chloride maintains consistent efficacy even at low temperatures. It readily forms large, compact flocs in water. Even with minimal iron content, it avoids excessive pH reduction or increased effluent colouration. It remains effective for COD removal under low-temperature conditions.

It should be noted that the colour of polyaluminium chloride varies with its concentration, ranging from earthy tones to brown, yellow, or white. These colour differences are intrinsically linked to the production process. However, regardless of colour, the efficacy remains consistent. When added to wastewater, it effectively flocculates and precipitates, thereby achieving water purification. Generally, earth-coloured products contain approximately 26% active ingredient. Brown products often indicate higher iron content, while yellow variants are typically potable-grade with over 29% concentration. Their efficacy in treating tap water is unquestionable and entirely safe. Regardless of colour, all products exhibit excellent water solubility. Upon introduction into water, they dissolve completely, forming flocs rapidly and with high activity during dissolution. This effectively achieves the decomposition and purification of wastewater, while also demonstrating significant water-clearing effects on highly turbid water. They are one of the indispensable water treatment chemicals.
