Factors Influencing the Price of Polyaluminium Chloride

Newstime:2025-04-14        Source:Polyacrylamide

With the increasingly widespread application of polyaluminium chloride products, the number of manufacturers has grown substantially. Consequently, competition has intensified, leading to significant price fluctuations and considerable variations in market pricing. Furthermore, during usage, one observes substantial differences in both dosage requirements and cost for products of identical concentration and colour. What factors contribute to these discrepancies?

From a production perspective, it is important to note that the raw materials for manufacturing polyaluminium chloride include metallic aluminium, hydrochloric acid, aluminium hydroxide, aluminium oxide, and others. Any increase in raw material costs will naturally lead to higher product prices. Market dynamics also play a significant role. The supply-demand relationship in the market is the primary driver of price fluctuations. When production exceeds demand, prices tend to fall. Conversely, when demand outstrips production capacity, prices inevitably rise. Technical specifications also significantly influence pricing. Key factors include aluminium oxide content, base degree, and insoluble matter content. Higher aluminium oxide content indicates superior quality, while lower insoluble matter content naturally results in a lower base degree. Correspondingly, the product commands a higher price. Furthermore, pricing is affected by transportation costs and national policies. For instance, if a country intensifies environmental protection policies, the demand for the product will increase, inevitably leading to price fluctuations.

Furthermore, the colour of polyaluminium chloride products varies, with different shades commanding different prices. Generally, three colours exist: white, yellow, and brown. These colour differences entail significant distinctions in production processes and practical applications. White products represent superior quality. They utilise premium aluminium powder and hydrochloric acid as raw materials, employing advanced spray-drying technology in production. Their applications are also more extensive than other variants, proving highly effective in papermaking, pharmaceuticals, and sugar decolourisation and clarification processes. In contrast, yellow products are typically manufactured using plate-and-frame filtration technology. Available in both flake and powder forms, they are primarily employed in wastewater treatment and potable water purification. Brown-coloured products result from adding iron powder to the base materials of bauxite and hydrochloric acid. These are generally manufactured using the drum method. In wastewater treatment applications, they offer a more favourable cost-performance ratio compared to yellow products.
