Polymeric Aluminium-iron Chloride

Polymerised Aluminium Ferric Chloride (PAFC) currently stands as the most effective inorganic polymeric water treatment material within China's water purification industry. It demonstrates excellent performance across diverse industrial wastewater streams and varying concentration levels, whilst requiring minimal dosage. When treating equivalent wastewater loads, PAFC achieves comparable results to polymerised aluminium chloride at approximately 10% lower dosage. This novel, highly efficient flocculant incorporates iron ions, iron(III) oxide, and other iron-containing compounds. It demonstrates particularly pronounced efficacy in treating wastewater with varying degrees of turbidity, as well as in purifying water at both high and low temperatures. Crucially, it requires no alkaline adjuvants or supplementary chemicals.

• The applicable pH range is relatively broad. Its application spans diverse industrial sectors.
• It exhibits low water-insoluble content and possesses light transmittance.
• Dosage requirements are lower than other conventional flocculants. It delivers excellent water purification efficacy.
• Polymerised aluminium ferric chloride exhibits minimal corrosiveness. It dissolves readily in water, demonstrating superior solubility compared to other water treatment chemicals.
• It effectively removes BOD and COD from wastewater, with decolourisation performance surpassing that of PAC and other water treatment methods.
• Its efficacy remains largely unaffected by water temperature variations.
• Water purified using polymerised aluminium ferric chloride fully complies with national standard requirements.

1. Firstly, polyaluminium ferric chloride must be introduced into the water purification equipment. At a concentration of 10% to 30%, it should be slowly added to tap water whilst continuously agitated to ensure thorough hydrolysis. The resulting solution will settle into a reddish-brown liquid. Subsequently, dilute with additional water to achieve the optimal concentration before initiating coagulation. For water treatment plants, a 2%-5% concentration solution may be prepared and added directly. For industrial wastewater treatment, a 5%-10% concentration solution may be added directly.
2.  Following preliminary wastewater sampling and experimental ratio determination, we observed that under identical conditions, the dosage of polyaluminium ferric chloride is broadly equivalent to that of polyaluminium chloride. It represents one-third to one-quarter of the dosage required for polyferric sulphate. For liquid PAFC, the concentration-to-wastewater ratio should be approximately 1:3.
3. Introduce the prepared solution into the reaction tank. Simultaneously add polyaluminium ferric chloride and wastewater to initiate the coagulation effect, thereby achieving water purification.
4. Note: Solutions prepared on the same day should ideally be used that day, as they may otherwise become ineffective. The presence of sediment at the bottom of the reaction tank is a normal phenomenon.
